✧ A man came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of God, is there any hour of the hours of night and day that you would command me not to pray in?' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Yes, when you have prayed the dawn prayer, then refrain from prayer until the sun rises' — and Ibn Abd al-Hakam said: 'until the sun has risen high, for it rises between the two horns of the devil — then prayer is witnessed, attended, and accepted until midday. When it is midday, then refrain from prayer until the sun declines; for at that time Hell is kindled, and the intensity of the heat is from the blaze of Hell. When the sun declines, then prayer is attended, witnessed, and accepted until you pray the afternoon prayer. When you have prayed the afternoon prayer, then refrain from prayer until the sun sets.'
