- Ibn ʿUmar
✧ When asked about the prayer of fear, he said: The imam stands with a group of people and prays one rak'ah with them, while another group remains between him and the enemy, not yet praying. When those with him have prayed one rak'ah, they move back to the place of those who have not prayed, without saying the taslim, and those who have not prayed come forward and pray one rak'ah with him. Then the imam leaves, having prayed two rak'ahs, and each of the two groups stands and prays one rak'ah for themselves. If the fear is more severe than that, they pray on foot standing, and mounted, facing the Qibla and not facing it. Nafi' said: I do not think Ibn 'Umar mentioned it except from the Messenger of Allah.
