Sahih Ibn Hibban 939

Remove sins from the worshipper by virtue of the Chosen One, ﷺ .

أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْقَزَّازُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الْكَرْمَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ دُعَاءٍ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ»

✧ I said to Anas b. Malik, 'Tell me about a supplication the Prophet ﷺ used to make.' He said, 'O Allah, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.'

  • فَلَقِيتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ أَكْثَرُ دَعْوَةٍ يَدْعُو بِهَا «رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ»

    machine translationSo I met Ismāʿīl and asked him, and he said: The supplication he made most often was: «Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.»
