✧ The admonition to prevent reliance on the writings of a person without preserving them

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ التَّمَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ

كَانَ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَعَمَلٍ لَا يُرْفَعُ وَقَلَبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَقَوْلٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ»

✧ He used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from deeds that are not raised, from a heart that does not humble itself, and from words that are not heard."
