✧ That He may gather me and you in the market of Paradise. Saʿīd said: Is there a market in it? He said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me: “When the people of Paradise enter it, they will alight therein according to the excellence of their deeds. Then permission will be given to them for a period equal to Friday of the days of this world, and they will visit Allah, Mighty and Exalted. He will show them His Throne and appear to them in a garden of the gardens of Paradise. Pulpits of light will be set up for them, and pulpits of pearl, pulpits of ruby, pulpits of chrysolite, pulpits of gold, and pulpits of silver. The lowest of them—and there is no lowly one among them—will sit on mounds of musk and camphor. They will not think that the owners of the chairs are in a better position than them.” Abu Hurayrah said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, will we see our Lord? He said: “Yes. Do you doubt seeing the sun and the moon on the night when it is full?” We said: No. He said: “Likewise, you will not doubt seeing your Lord. No one will remain in that gathering except that Allah will confront him with a confrontation, until He says to a man among them: ‘O so-and-so, do you remember the day you did such and such?’ He will remind him of some of his treacherous acts in the world. He will say: ‘O Lord, did You not forgive me?’ He will say: ‘Yes, by the vastness of My forgiveness you have reached this station of yours.’” He said: “While they are thus, a cloud will cover them from above and rain down upon them a perfume whose like they have never smelled. Then He, Mighty and Exalted, will say: ‘Arise to what I have prepared for you of honor, and take whatever you desire.’” He said: “So we will come to a market surrounded by angels, the like of which eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, and hearts have not imagined. Whatever we desire will be carried to us. Nothing will be sold or bought in it. In that market the people of Paradise will meet one another. A man of high station will come forward and meet one who is below him—and there is no lowly one among them—and he will be amazed by the clothing he sees on him. Before his conversation ends, a better form will appear on him. That is because no one should grieve therein.” He said: “Then we will return to our dwellings, and our wives will meet us and say: ‘Welcome and greetings to our beloved. You have come, and you have more beauty and fragrance than when you left us.’ He will say: ‘We sat today with our Lord, the Compeller, and it is right that we return with the like of what we have returned with.’”
