أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ لِلْأَنْصَارِ بِالْبَحْرَيْنِ فَقَالُوا لَا حَتَّى تَكْتُبَ لِأَصْحَابِنَا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to write for the Ansar regarding Bahrain. They said, "No, not until you write for our companions from Quraysh the like of that." He said, "You will encounter after me favoritism, so be patient until you meet me at the Pond."
