✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed Abu Amir al-Ash'ari on the day of Hunayn over the cavalry of the pursuit. When Hawazin fled, he pursued them until he caught up with Durayd b. al-Simmah. His horse sped with him, and the son of Durayd killed Abu Amir. Abu Musa said: I attacked the son of Durayd and killed him, took the banner, and returned with the people to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he saw me with the banner in my hand, he said: "Abu Musa, has Abu Amir been killed?" I said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He raised his hands supplicating for him, saying: "O Allah, as for Abu Amir, place him among the majority on the Day of Resurrection."
