أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
قَدِمْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا رَاجِعِينَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ فُرْسَانِنَا الْيَوْمَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ وَخَيْرُ رَجَّالَتِنَا الْيَوْمَ سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْأَكْوَعِ» ثُمَّ أَعْطَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَهْمَ الْفَارِسِ وَسَهْمَ الرَّاجِلِ
Translation

✧ We arrived with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at al-Hudaybiyah, then we set out returning to Madinah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best of our horsemen today is Abu Qatadah, and the best of our foot soldiers today is Salamah b. al-Akwa'." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me the share of a horseman and the share of a foot soldier.
