✧ When this verse was revealed: {O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet and do not be loud with him in speech}, Thabit b. Qays b. Shammas sat in his house and said: I am the one who used to raise my voice and be loud with him in speech, and I am among the people of the Fire. The Prophet ﷺ missed him, so they informed him, and he said: "Rather, he is among the people of Paradise." Anas said: We used to see him walking among us while we knew that he was among the people of Paradise. Then on the day of al-Yamamah, when that rout occurred, he put on his clothes, perfumed himself with hanut, advanced, and fought until he was killed.
