أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أبيه
أَنّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَمِعَ خَشْخَشَةً أَمَامَهُ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا بِلالٌ فَأَخْبَرَهُ وَقَالَ بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَحْدَثْتُ إِِلا تَوَضَّأْتُ وَلاَ تَوَضَّأْتُ إِِلا رَأَيْتُ أَنَّ لِلَّهِ عَلَيَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ أُصَلِّيهُمَا قَالَ ﷺ «بِهَا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a rustling sound ahead of him and said: "Who is this?" They said: "Bilal." He informed him and said: "By what have you preceded me to Paradise?" Bilal said: "O Messenger of Allah, I never perform ablution except that I pray two rak'ahs, and I never perform ablution except that I consider that Allah has a right over me to pray them." He ﷺ said: "By that."
