أَخْبَرَنَا شَبَابُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ بِوَاسِطَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلَاسِلِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «عَائِشَةُ» قُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ؟ قَالَ «أَبُوهَا» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him on the expedition of Dhat al-Salasil. He said: I came to him and asked: 'Which of the people is most beloved to you?' He said: "'A'ishah." I said: 'Among men?' He said: "Her father." I said: 'Then whom?' He said: "Then 'Umar b. al-Khattab."
