✧ His Death ﷺ

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الصَّوَّافُ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

«لَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِيهِ الْمَدِينَةَ أَضَاءَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ أَظْلَمَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ وَمَا نَفَضْنَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْأَيْدِي وَإِنَّا لَفِي دَفْنِهِ حَتَّى أَنْكَرْنَا قُلُوبَنَا»

Translation

✧ On the day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Madinah, everything in it was illuminated, and on the day he died, everything in it became dark. We had not yet dusted off our hands from burying the Prophet ﷺ when we already felt estranged in our hearts.
