قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ
أَنَّهُ لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فِي النَّاسِ خَطِيبًا فَقَالَ «لَا أَسْمَعَنَّ أَحَدًا يَقُولُ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ قَدْ مَاتَ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ لَمْ يَمُتْ وَلَكِنْ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ رَبُّهُ كَمَا أَرْسَلَ إِلَى مُوسَى فَلَبِثَ عَنْ قَوْمِهِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً»
Translation

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died, Umar b. al-Khattab stood addressing the people and said, "Let me not hear anyone say that Muhammad ﷺ has died. Muhammad ﷺ has not died, but his Lord sent to him as He sent to Moses, and he remained away from his people for forty nights."
