أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
«تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَتَرَكَ عِنْدَنَا شَيْئًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ فَمَازِلْنَا نَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى كَالَتْهُ الْجَارِيَةُ فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ فَنِيَ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَكِلْهُ لَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ يَبْقَى أَكْثَرُ»

✧ “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ died and left with us some barley, and we kept eating from it until the slave girl measured it, and it did not take long before it was exhausted. Had she not measured it, I would have hoped that it would have lasted longer.”
