أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«بُعِثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً وَدَعَا النَّاسَ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ فِي الْقِتَالِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فَكَانَتِ الْهِجْرَةُ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ فَقُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً»

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ was sent at forty, called people to Islam, and was not permitted to fight for thirteen years. The Hijrah was after ten years, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away at sixty-three.
