أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ بِبَيْرُوتَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُلَيَّةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا وَهَبَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَثَابَهُ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ «رَضِيتَ؟ » قَالَ لَا فَزَادَهُ وَقَالَ «رَضِيتَ؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَّهِبُ إِلَّا مِنْ قُرَشِيٍّ أَوْ أَنْصَارِيٍّ أَوْ ثَقَفِيٍّ»

✧ A Bedouin gave a gift to the Prophet ﷺ, and he rewarded him for it, then said, ‘Are you satisfied?’ He said, ‘No.’ So he increased it and said, ‘Are you satisfied?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ Then the Prophet ﷺ said, ‘I had resolved not to accept gifts except from a Qurayshi, an Ansari, or a Thaqafi.’
