أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«يَخْرُجُ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ النَّارِ فَيُعْرَضَانِ عَلَى اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُؤْمَرُ بِهِمَا إِلَى النَّارِ فَيَلْتَفِتُ أَحَدُهُمَا فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ مَا كَانَ هَذَا رَجَائِي قَالَ وَمَا كَانَ رَجَاؤُكَ؟ قَالَ كَانَ رَجَائِي إِذْ أَخْرَجْتَنِي مِنْهَا أَنْ لَا تُعِيدَنِي فَيَرْحَمُهُ اللَّهُ فَيُدْخِلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ»

✧ “Two men will come out of the Fire and be presented to Allah, then they will be ordered back to the Fire. One of them will turn and say, ‘O Lord, this was not my hope.’ He said, ‘And what was your hope?’ He said, ‘My hope was that when You brought me out of it, You would not return me to it.’ So Allah will have mercy on him and admit him to Paradise.”
