✧ “Those before you were destroyed because of their excessive questioning and their disagreement with their prophets. Do not ask me about anything but I will tell you about it.” Abdullah b. Hudhafah b. Qays al-Sahmi stood up and said, “Who is my father, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “Your father is Hudhafah.” He returned to his mother, and his mother said to him, “What made you do what you did? We were people of ignorance and evil deeds.” He said, “I would not stop until I knew who my father was among the people.” He was a playful man.
