أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ مَوْلَى سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ

أَنَّ امْرَأَتَهُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَقَالَتْ قَدِمَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ مِنْ غَزْوَةٍ فَدَخَلَ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ فَقَرَّبْتُ لَهُ لَحْمًا مِنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَهُ حَتَّى سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «كُلْهُ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ إِلَى ذِي الْحِجَّةِ»

✧ His wife Umm Sulaym asked ʿAʾishah about the meat of sacrificial animals. She said: ʿAli b. Abi Talib arrived from a military expedition and entered upon his family, and I offered him some meat from the sacrificial animals. He refused to eat it until he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: «Eat it from Dhu al-Hijjah to Dhu al-Hijjah.»

    machine translationAḥmad narrated it, as did al-Ṭabarānī in al-Awsaṭ, and he said: "Umm Sulaymān did not narrate anything other than this hadith." I say: she was declared trustworthy (muwaththaqah), as is transmitted in the Musnad, and the rest of Aḥmad's narrators are trustworthy (thiqāt).
