Companionship and socializing

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«لَا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُحْزِنُهُ» قَالَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ فَقُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ فَأَرْبَعَةٌ؟ قَالَ لَا يَضُرُّكَ

Translation

✧ "Two should not converse privately excluding their companion, for that saddens him." Abu Salih said: I said to Ibn 'Umar: What about four? He said: It does not harm you.
