أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الرُّكَيْنَ بْنَ الرَّبِيعِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ

«نَهَانَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نُسَمِّيَ رَقِيقَنَا بِأَرْبَعَةِ أَسْمَاءٍ أَفْلَحَ وَرَبَاحٍ وَيَسَارٍ وَنَافِعٍ»

✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ forbade us from naming our slaves with four names: Aflah, Rabah, Yasar, and Nafi'.
