✧ Abu Musa sought permission to enter upon Umar three times, but permission was not granted to him, and it was as if Umar was busy. Abu Musa returned. When Umar was free, he said, "Did I not hear the voice of Abdullah b. Qays? Grant him permission." It was said, "He has already left." So he summoned him and said, "We were commanded to do that." He said, "You must bring me proof of that." So he went to the gathering of the Ansar and asked them. They said, "None will testify for you except the youngest of us, Abu Sa'id al-Khudri." So he took Abu Sa'id and he testified for him. He said, "This was hidden from me of the affair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; the haggling in the markets distracted me. But greet as you wish."
