✧ Humility, pride, and arrogance

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ بِحَرَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ الشَّرِيدِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ

مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ قَدْ وَضَعْتُ يَدِي الْيُسْرَى خَلْفَ ظَهْرِي وَاتَّكَأْتُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَتَقْعُدُ قِعْدَةَ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ »

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was sitting and had placed my left hand behind my back and was leaning on it. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Do you sit in the sitting of those who have incurred wrath?”
