✧ I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, stopping at al-Jiʿrānah between Makkah and Madinah, and with him was Bilāl. A Bedouin man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'Will you not fulfill for me, O Muḥammad, what you promised me?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'Rejoice.' The Bedouin said to him, 'You have given me too much good news.' The narrator said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to Abū Mūsā and Bilāl as if angry and said, 'This man has rejected the good news, so accept it yourselves.' They said, 'We accept, O Messenger of Allah.' The narrator said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a bowl of water and then said to them, 'Drink from it and pour it over your faces or chests.' They took the bowl and did what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded them. Then Umm Salamah called out to us from behind the curtain, 'Leave some for your mother in your vessel.' So they left a portion of it for her.
