أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ كَعَمَلِهِمْ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّكَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ» قَالَ فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ «أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ»

✧ O Messenger of Allah, what about a man who loves a people but cannot do deeds like theirs? He said, 'You, O Abū Dharr, are with the one you love.' He said, 'I love Allah and His Messenger.' He said, 'You, O Abū Dharr, are with the one you love.'
