أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُشَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
«أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ فَبَايَعْنَاهُ وَإِنَّهُ لَمُطْلَقُ الْأَزْرَارِ فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي فِي جَيْبِ قَمِيصِهِ فَمَسَسْتُ الْخَاتَمَ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَلَا أَبَاهُ قَطُّ فِي شِتَاءٍ وَلَا حَرٍّ إِلَّا تَنْطَلِقُ أُزُرُهُمَا لَا يُزِرَّانِ أَبَدًا»

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a group from Muzaynah and we pledged allegiance to him, and his buttons were undone. I put my hand into the opening of his shirt and touched the seal. I never saw Mu'awiyah or his father, in winter or summer, but that their lower garments were loose, never fastened.
