أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى بِشْرِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
«الْوَلَاءُ لُحْمَةٌ كَلُحْمَةِ النَّسَبِ لَا يُبَاعُ وَلَا يُوهَبُ»

machine translationThis is a mistake, in which Abū Ḍamrah erred. The people say: ʿUbayd Allāh, from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, and they narrate from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf): "Walāʾ is a kinship (luḥmah)." And this is the correct version.
