أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ مَرَّ عَلَى صُبْرَةِ طَعَامٍ فَأَدْخَلَ أَصَابِعَهُ فِيهَا فَإِذَا فِيهِ بَلَلٌ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا صَاحِبَ الطَّعَامِ؟ » قَالَ أَصَابَتْهُ سَمَاءٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «فَهَلَّا جَعَلْتَهُ فَوْقَ الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ مَنْ غَشَّنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»

✧ The Prophet passed by a heap of food and inserted his fingers into it, and found moisture. He said: "What is this, O owner of the food?" He said: "It was affected by rain, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Why did you not put it on top of the food so that people could see it? Whoever deceives us is not of us."
