✧ 'You count the conquest as the conquest of Makkah; and the conquest of Makkah was indeed a conquest, but we count the conquest as the pledge of al-Ridwan on the day of al-Hudaybiyyah.' He said: 'We were with the Prophet ﷺ one hundred and fourteen; and al-Hudaybiyyah is a well, so we drew from it and did not leave a drop in it. That reached the Prophet ﷺ, so he came to it and sat on its edge, then called for a vessel of water, performed ablution and rinsed his mouth, and supplicated, then poured it into it. We left it not long before it gave us and our mounts to drink as much as we wished.'
