✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ at Ḥunayn, and he said about a man who was counted among the Muslims, “He is one of the people of the Fire.” When the fighting began, the man fought fiercely and was wounded. It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, the man whom you said was one of the people of the Fire fought fiercely today and died.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “To the Fire.” Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were about to have doubts. While they were in that state, it was said that he had not died but had severe wounds. When night came, his wounds became severe and he killed himself. The Prophet ﷺ was informed of that, and he said, “Allah is greatest. I bear witness that I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.” Then he ordered Bilāl, and he called out among the people, “None will enter Paradise except a believing soul, and Allah supports the religion with the wicked man.”
