✧ The right of parents

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بِنَسَا قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُوقَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَجُلٌ فقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَذْنَبْتُ ذَنْبًا كَبِيرًا فَهَلْ لِي مِنْ تَوْبَةٍ؟ فقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَلَكَ وَالِدَانِ؟ » قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَلَكَ خَالَةٌ»؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَبِرَّهَا إِذًا»

✧ A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a great sin. Is there any repentance for me?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'Do you have parents?' He said, 'No.' He said, 'Do you have a maternal aunt?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then be dutiful to her.'
