✧ The companionship of married couples

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي قَزْعَةَ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا حَقُّ الْمَرْأَةِ عَلَى الزَّوْجِ؟ قَالَ «يُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا طَعِمَ وَيَكْسُوَهَا إِذَا اكْتَسَى ثُمَّ لَا يَضْرِبُ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا يُقَبِّحُ وَلَا يَهْجُرُ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ»

✧ A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, “What is the right of a wife upon her husband?” He said, “He should feed her when he eats and clothe her when he clothes himself. Then he should not strike the face, nor insult her, nor desert her except in the house.”
