✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed on behalf of Julaybib to a woman of the Ansar, to her father. He said, “Until I consult her mother.” He said, “Yes, then.” So he went to his wife and mentioned that to her. She said, “No, by Allah, never! We have refused her to so-and-so and so-and-so.” She said, and the girl was behind her curtain, listening. The girl said, “Will you reject the command of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? If he has approved him for you, then marry him.” He said, “It was as if she released her parents.” They both said, “She has spoken truth.” Her father went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “If you approve him for us, we approve.” He said, “I approve him.” So he married her. The people of Madinah were alarmed, and the wife of Julaybib went out among them. She found her husband killed, and beneath him were slain from the polytheists whom he had killed. Anas b. Malik said, “I have not seen in Madinah a previously married woman more desirable than her.”
