أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«كَانَتْ قُرَيْشُ قُطَّانَ الْبَيْتِ وَكَانُوا يُفِيضُونَ مِنْ مِنًى وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يُفِيضُونَ مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {ثُمَّ أَفِيضُوا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ النَّاسُ} »

✧ "Quraysh used to be in charge of the Kaaba, and they used to overflow from Mina, while the people overflowed from Arafat. Then Allah revealed, 'Then depart from where [all] the people depart'."
