أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ جُرَيْجٍ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ «يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ رَأَيْتُكَ تَصْنَعُ أَرْبَعًا لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ يَصْنَعُهَا قَالَ مَا هِيَ يَا ابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ » رَأَيْتُكَ لَا تَمَسُّ مِنَ الْأَرْكَانِ إِلَّا الْيَمَانِيَّيْنِ وَرَأَيْتُكَ تَلْبَسُ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ وَرَأَيْتُكَ تَصْبِغُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ وَرَأَيْتُكَ إِذَا كُنْتَ بِمَكَّةَ أَهَلَّ النَّاسُ إِذَا رَأَوَا الْهِلَالَ وَلَمْ تُهِلَّ أَنْتَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ ? فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ «أَمَّا الْأَرْكَانُ فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسْتَلِمُ إِلَّا الْيَمَانِيَّيْنِ وَأَمَّا النِّعَالُ السِّبْتِيَّةُ فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَلْبَسُ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ الَّتِي لَيْسَ فِيهَا شَعَرٌ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ فِيهَا فَأَنَا أَحَبُّ أَنْ أَلْبَسَهَا وَأَمَّا الصُّفْرَةُ فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصْبُغُ بِهَا وَأَمَّا الْإِهْلَالُ فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ حَتَّى تَنْبَعِثَ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ»

✧ He said to 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar, 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, I have seen you do four things that I have not seen any of your companions do.' He said, 'What are they, O Ibn Jurayj?' He said, 'I have seen you not touching any of the corners except the two Yamani ones, I have seen you wearing hairless leather sandals, I have seen you dyeing with yellow, and I have seen you when you are in Makkah: the people enter ihram when they see the new moon, but you do not enter ihram until the Day of Tarwiyah.' 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar replied, 'As for the corners, I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ touch any except the two Yamani ones. As for the hairless leather sandals, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing hairless leather sandals that had no hair on them and performing ablution while wearing them, so I like to wear them. As for yellow dye, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dye with it. As for entering ihram, I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ enter ihram until his mount set off with him.'
