أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ مُقَاتِلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَعْبَدٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَخْطُبُ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اكْتُتِبْتُ فِي غَزَاةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَخَرَجَتِ امْرَأَتِي حَاجَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اذْهَبْ فَحِجَّ بِامْرَأَتِكَ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the pulpit delivering a sermon, when a man stood up to him and said: “O Messenger of Allah, I have been enlisted in such-and-such a campaign, and my wife has set out for Hajj.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Go and perform Hajj with your wife.”
