✧ The Excellence of the City

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَأَصَابَ الْأَعْرَابِيَّ وَعْكٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَخَرَجَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا الْمَدِينَةُ كَالْكِيرِ تَنْفِي خَبَثَهَا وَيَنْصَعُ طَيِّبُهَا»

✧ A Bedouin pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon Islam, and the Bedouin fell ill with a fever in Madinah. The Bedouin left, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Madinah is but like a bellows; it expels its impurities and its pure goodness shines forth."
