✧ Voluntary Fasting

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ يَوْمٌ كَانَتْ تَصُومُهُ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَمَنْ أَحَبَّ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَصُومَهُ فَلْيَصُمْهُ وَمَنْ كَرِهَهُ فَلْيَدَعْهُ»

Translation

✧ The day of Ashura is a day that the people of the pre-Islamic period used to fast. So whoever among you wishes to fast it, let him fast it, and whoever dislikes it, let him leave it.
