✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. Among us were those who fasted and those who broke their fast. We stopped at a place on a very hot day. Some of us were shielding themselves from the sun with their hands, and most of us in the shade were those who had cloaks—the fasting ones sheltered with them. The ones who broke their fast stood up, set up the tents, and tended to the mounts. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Those who broke their fast have taken the reward today.”

machine translationThe companions of ʿĀṣim disagreed with him, among them Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Ḍarīr and ʿAlī b. Mushir, and they narrated it from ʿĀṣim, from Muwarriq al-ʿIjlī, from Anas, and that is the correct (ṣawāb) version.
