أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ جَوْصَا بِدِمَشْقَ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ بُجَيْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَيْوَةَ شُرَيْحُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَرْطَاةُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنِ الْمُعَلَّى بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمَدَنِيِّ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

«أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِزَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ عَنْ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ صَغِيرٍ أَوْ كَبِيرٍ حُرٍّ أَوْ عَبْدٍ» قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ «ثُمَّ إِنَّ النَّاسَ جَعَلُوا عِدْلَ ذَلِكَ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ قَمْحٍ»

✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Zakat al-Fitr: a saʿ of dates or a saʿ of barley for every Muslim, young or old, free or slave." Ibn ʿUmar said: "Then people made its equivalent two mudds of wheat."
