سَمِعْتُ أَبَا خَلِيفَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ بَكْرِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ زِيَادٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

أَتَى أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ تَمْرٌ مِنْ تَمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ فَأَخَذَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ تَمْرَةً فَلَاكَهَا فَأَدْخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِصْبَعَيْهِ فِي فِيهِ فَأَخْرَجَهَا وَقَالَ «كِخْ أَيْ بُنَيَّ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّا لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ»

✧ Dates from the dates of charity were brought to Abu al-Qasim ﷺ. Al-Hasan b. ʿAli took a date and chewed it, so the Prophet ﷺ inserted his two fingers into his mouth and removed it, and said: "Spit it out, O my little son. Did you not know that charity is not lawful for us?"
