أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سَلَّامِ بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حَبَّةَ وَسَوَاءً ابْنِي خَالِدٍ يَقُولَانِ
أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَعْمَلُ عَمَلًا يَبْنِي بِنَاءً فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ دَعَانَا فَقَالَ «لَا تَنَافَسَا فِي الرِّزْقِ مَا هُزَّتْ رُءُوسُكُمَا فَإِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ تَلِدُهُ أُمُّهُ وَهُوَ أَحْمَرُ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ قِشْرٌ ثُمَّ يُعْطِيهِ اللَّهُ وَيَرْزُقُهُ»

✧ We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was doing a task, building a structure. When he finished, he called us and said, "Do not compete with each other in provision as long as your heads shake, for a person is born of his mother red, with no shell on him, then Allah gives him and provides for him."
