أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ سُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي بَشِيرُ بْنُ نَهِيكٍ
حَدَّثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ الْخَصَاصِيَةَ وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ زَحْمُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا اسْمُكَ؟ » قَالَ زَحْمٌ

✧ Bashir b. al-Khasasiyyah—his name in the pre-Islamic era was Zahm b. Ma'bad—narrated to us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "What is your name?" He said, "Zahm."
