✧ A Chapter about the Prayer for the Funeral

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

«أَنْبَأَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ أَخَاكُمْ النَّجَاشِيَّ تُوُفِّيَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَصَفُّوا خَلْفَهُ وَكَبَّرَ أَرْبَعًا وَهُمْ لَا يَظُنُّونَ إِلَّا أَنَّ جَنَازَتَهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that your brother the Negus has died, so stand and pray over him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and they lined up behind him, and he said four takbirs while they did not think except that his bier was before him.
