✧ "When death comes to a believer, the angels of mercy attend him. When his soul is taken, it is placed in white silk and taken up to the gate of heaven. They say, 'We have never found a sweeter scent than this.' It is said, 'Leave him to rest, for he was in distress.' Then he is asked, 'What did so-and-so do? What did so-and-so do? What did so-and-so do?'"

machine translationQatādah narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Hammām narrated it from Qatādah, from Abū al-Jawzāʾ, from Abū Hurayrah. Al-Qāsim b. al-Faḍl differed from them and narrated it from Qatādah, from Qasāmah b. Zuhayr, from Abū Hurayrah. And God knows best what is correct.
