machine translationHilāl b. Yasāf narrates it from al-Agharr. Manṣūr b. al-Muʿtamir and Ḥuṣayn b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān related it, and there is disagreement concerning both of them. As for Manṣūr, al-Thawrī narrated it from Manṣūr, and there is disagreement concerning him: ʿĪsā b. Yūnus and Ibn Ismāʿīl al-Fārisī narrated it from al-Thawrī from Manṣūr as raised to the Prophet ﷺ (marfūʿ), but Abū Nuʿaym differed from them and made it a statement of Abū Hurayrah (mawqūf). Abū Ismāʿīl al-Fārisī, who is Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl, added in this hadith a phrase that no one else said, namely his saying: "Prompt your dying with: there is no god but God." Abū ʿAwānah also narrated it, and there is disagreement concerning him: Ḥabbān b. Hilāl narrated it from Abū ʿAwānah from Manṣūr as marfūʿ, while others narrate it from Abū ʿAwānah as mawqūf. Likewise Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān, Jarīr b. ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd and Abū Ḥafṣ al-Abbār narrated it from Manṣūr. As for Ḥuṣayn b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, ʿAmr b. ʿUthmān al-Kilābī narrated it from Zuhayr b. Muʿāwiyah from Ḥuṣayn from Hilāl from al-Agharr from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet ﷺ. But Shuʿbah, Hushaym and ʿAbthar b. al-Qāsim differed from him; they narrated it from Ḥuṣayn from Hilāl as mawqūf. ʿAlī b. ʿĀbis narrated it from Ḥuṣayn from al-Agharr from Abū Hurayrah as mawqūf, omitting Hilāl b. Yasāf from it. The correct report from Ḥuṣayn and Manṣūr is the mawqūf one. Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl narrated to us: Muḥammad b. Ashkāb narrated to us: Abū Ismāʿīl al-Fārisī narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us from Manṣūr from Hilāl from al-Agharr from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Prompt your dying with: there is no god but God. For whoever's last words from this world at death are: there is no god but God, it will save him one day of his life, even if what befell him before that befell him."
