أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَخْتَلِفُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَعَ بُنَيٍّ لَهُ فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا مَاتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِأَبِيهِ «أَمَا يَسُرُّكَ أَلَا تَأْتِي بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا وَجَدْتَهُ يَنْتَظِرُكَ»

✧ A man used to frequent the Prophet ﷺ with a young son of his, and the Prophet ﷺ missed him. They said, "He died, O Messenger of Allah." So the Prophet ﷺ said to his father, "Would it not please you that you will not come to any gate of the gates of Paradise except that you find him waiting for you?"
