أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ
قَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «اتَّقُوا النَّارَ» ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ وَأَشَاحَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اتَّقُوا النَّارَ» ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ وَأَشَاحَ حَتَّى رَأَيْنَا أَنَّهُ يَرَاهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا فَبِكَلِمَةٍ طَيْبَةٍ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ stood and said: 'Fear the Fire.' Then he turned away and averted his face. He said: Then he said: 'Fear the Fire.' Then he turned away and averted his face, until we thought that he saw it. Then he said: 'Fear the Fire, even with half a date; if you do not find it, then with a good word.'
