Night Prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُوسٍ وَابْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ بِاللَّيْلِ؟ قَالَ «يُصَلِّي أَحَدُكُمْ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خَشِيَ الصُّبْحَ أَوْتَرَ بِرَكْعَةٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked: "How do you command us to pray at night?" He said: "One of you should pray two rak'ahs at a time, and if he fears dawn, he should pray one rak'ah as witr."
