✧ I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night. He began Surah al-Baqarah. I said: He will recite a hundred verses and then bow. But he continued. I said: He will finish it in two rakʿahs. But he continued. I said: He will finish it and then bow. But he continued until he recited Surah al-Nisāʾ, then Āl ʿImrān, then he bowed for about as long as his standing, saying: “Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent.” Then he raised his head and said: “Allah hears the one who praises Him. O Allah, our Lord, to You belongs praise,” and he lengthened the standing. Then he prostrated and lengthened the prostration, saying in his prostration: “Glory be to my Lord, the Most High.” He did not pass by a verse of warning or glorification but that he mentioned it.
